QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH DESIGN: DESCRIPTIVE AND CORRELATIONAL RESEARCH 14 September 2021 (Tuesday) / 10.00 am - 12.00 pm   Trainer: Dr. Siti Noormi Alias Faculty of Educational Studies, UPM   Moderator: Dr. Nurul Afiqah Zulkifly Faculty of Educational Studies, UPM     Descriptive research concerns about the description of individual variables. The goal is to describe a single variable or to obtain separate descriptions for each variable when several are involved. Meanwhile, the goal of correlational research is to describe the relationship between variables. This short course on quantitative research design is meant to provide audiences with an understanding on the two designs. The aim of the course is to familiarize participants with the designs, as well as to guide them to gain skills of conducting quantitative research.   At the end of the session, participants will be able to:   Understand the details about descriptive and correlational research strategies; Generate research ideas and formulate relevant research questions and objectives according to the two research designs; and Identify the statistical procedures that mostly suit the two research designs.
