EFFECTIVE REMOTE PRESENTATION FOR ONLINE LEARNING   12 January 2021 (Tuesday) / 9.00 am - 12.00 pm Trainer: Prof. Dr. Abd Karim Alias (Centre for Development of Academic Excellence, Universiti Sains Malaysia)   The COVID-19 pandemic has affected educational systems worldwide. As such, educators and students must learn instantly on ways of remote teaching. Simply said, the presentations used to be given in a formal classroom now must happen digitally. The need to rapidly adapt to new contexts of teaching and learning online have created not only challenges, but opportunities for educators in finding creative ways to be effective. The shift to online learning has exposed educators and students to a new, unfamiliar virtual environment. Therefore, an effective remote presentation is seen as a way to help maintain students’ focus throughout the learning time despite the awkwardness and fatigue they may be facing. With a few tips and minor tweaks, educators will be able to make the transition to a virtual meeting successfully. At the end of the session, participants will be able to: identify key elements of an effective remote presentation; execute an engaging remote presentation for their course/subject; and review the effectiveness of their presentation for continuous improvement.
